November 24, 2013

It's been a while since our last blog but this has been a crazy month.  The Helix kickstarter was a huge success and we thank you all so very much for supporting us!  Ben and the rest of the guys at Acuity Design are now getting ready for the big build.  They will be building the initial 8 version 2 beta units like crazy over the next week, so Sulli and I probably wont see much of Ben over Thanksgiving break.  Not that we aren't used to Ben either being at work or working at home these days.  It takes a lot to try to make a startup successful!  Anyway, here's our life last month.

Sulli's school had their fall potluck.  Sulli and Cole checking out the stars.

Sulli's old teacher, Callie, and her boyfriend came to the potluck to perform. They play bluegrassy type music.  Surprisingly perfect for a preschool party.

Sulli has been a little bit more adventurous lately with hiking

We hiked all the way up to the 'L' last month.  Sulli did awesome.

We have also been trying to do some family bike rides too before the snow flies.  This is in the Rattlesnake wilderness.

Great spot for lunch.

Definitely fall

We went to a 'bee party' at our local winery.  The wine is god awful if you were wondering. Some guy brought a stuffed grizzly

and black bear

Sulli learned all about these guys.  Hopefully if he ever sees one for real he won't think they are cute and pettable.

So like I said, it was a bee party.  Celebrating honey bees or something.  Here's one of the buggers, they were everywhere.  I, being a person who hates bees and forgetting about the whole bee celebration thing, flicked one to death when it landed on my wine glass after being at the bee party for maybe 5 minutes.  My natural bee killer instincts are pretty hard to overcome, but I felt pretty bad.

Sulli's an excellent raker

This was from a ride Ben and I did last month.  Beautiful, it not reminiscent of a religious postcard.

Looks like it was a pretty bright day
Our final destination was this bridge about 9 miles up the trail but that we really weren't 100% sure even existed.  It did and was pretty.

Winnie and Cooper are always watching

"Hell yeah I'm riding a dinosaur head!"

Sulli had his first piano recital.  It was really a bowing recital (see movie).  This is on the way.

Poor guy was pretty nervous but he did awesome.  He has another one next month.  He may play at that one.
 I think he did awesome!

Sulli's jack-o-lantern

Ok so there will be lots of kitten pics, sorry.  Our friend Anne fostered a preggers kitty who had her litter this month.

They are ridiculously cute

I don't know how, but we haven't taken any of them home.  I want this one.

alright, that's all the kitten pics

Sulli chose to be batman this year for Halloween.

And as luck would have it, Lucas next door was Superman

Wait, here comes Asher! Evildoers don't stand a chance on our block!

A friend puts together these amazing haunted houses each year in his garage.  Sulli wanted to go so badly but when he got into the first room and saw this creepy skeleton butler guy he freaked out and ran away.  "Maybe when I'm 6" he says.  In his defense, it was pretty effing scary.

Max, er Dracula, came over to trick-or-treat.  They did well this year.

I just think this is funny

We've gotten a little snow, but nothing much and nothing has stuck.

Cooper channeling Maddie

The Fort had their Christmas thing early this year.  The boy still loves model trains.

And making his own train out of candy, but who doesn't love that?

Santa was even there.

It was snowing and sunny at the same time.  Pretty

I love this picture.  It's like a bigfoot sighting.

This is a common occurrence in Sulli's room in the mornings these days.  Costumes and toys everywhere with occasional superhero costumage.

Wake up, Spidey

Dance party comin' at ya!

Sulli has another ballet recital coming up. This is his class practicing their number.

And this was just fun

October 9, 2013

Happy Fall everyone!

Evildoers beware!  Captain America in jammies and boots is coming for you!

For reals!

Ben and I went to a friends wedding in a ghost town in the middle of nowhere Montana this month.

We stayed in this sheep wagon
Ben just barely fit on the bed.  It was loud, and creaky, and full of bugs, but also kind of great.

Morning view from our sheep wagon.

We went for a bike ride on some crazy backwoods dirt roads with nothing in sight for miles

Nice to get home to this though

A friend got a bearded dragon.  Sulli was enamored.

What?!  I'm just standing next to this building eating a cookie with black lego ninja.

Ballet has started again!

Sulli and this fine young man were talking at the park.  I overheard the little boy say "You're a piece of poop!"  To which Sulli replied, "Well you have poop in your pants and I'm walking around with a giant bag filled with my own pee."  The pee was to eventually spill onto the other boy evidently.  I haven't laughed that hard in a while.

Navigating the corn maze!

Sulli and Eliot

Sulli and Cooper will go down in the history books as one of the great boy-dog relationships.

Hiking with the Blair boys

It was a beautiful day.  It's so nice to see snow on the mountains again!

Another walk with Sage and Ely

Sage's Mom, Heather, said we will use this one on their wedding invitations.

We came home to a marching band across the street.  So, of course, I grabbed Sulli's trumpet and we joined in.

Sulli has started piano, and true to form, he hates it.  I am hoping he will appreciate it someday.

A picture of Sulli on a rainbow, me and Ben blocked by a "wind wall", and Ben (who is on the right) having his belt put on by a fellow standing behind him.

Eventually I convinced Sulli to drop some ropes down to us and we joined him on top of the rainbow.

Looking for water bugs in freezing water.  Yep, that's Max in his undies.

Caught one!

Another drawing.  This one is of a machine that makes pants.

Fall is so beautiful

The boys enjoying dinner at our nook.  I love this table!
And Ben's company finished their first printer.  It is big, and awesome, and super impressive.  They are going to be huge!
Hey sisters!  Remind you of anything?
