Happy New Years yall! Ben and I spent the holiday sans Sulli in Philipsburg, MT to ski at Discovery and had just an amazing weekend. This post is a bit of a sales pitch, but here goes. So we stayed at this hotel in Philipsburg called the Broadway Hotel. It was the perfect cross between a vacation home, hotel, and B and B. There are 10 rooms or so, a shared kitchen, and a large living room space in the middle of the hotel. The proprietor is a British woman named Sue. Sue made breakfast each morning and sat for a chat, but was otherwise not around. We had an insanely yummy dinner New Years eve at a little cafe in P-burg owned by a couple that moved to MT 6 years ago from South Boston of all places. Anyway, there is lots to do around P-burg and Ben and I just couldn't help but think it would be a great place for a family get together. Sue discounts if you rent out the whole hotel. Just a plug for some sort of winter MT vacation sometime in the future.
We took Sulli skiing today and he actually had fun. Now that he knows he gets a huge cup of hot chocolate after skiing he is all for it.
Sulli is into "loving" things these days. He says "I love Thomas" about his Thomas train, "I love blue" about blue... Today we were letting the chickies out and Sulli looked at me and said "the chickies love snow". This is so not true btw.
Ben and I want to thank Mike and Dave for giving us the weekend off, we really needed it. Sulli has called me 'grandma' about 10 times since we got back however which is just weird.

Sulli and new blue babo.
Historic downtown Philipsburg.

The living room space. It has games and even a projector to play DVDs on a big screen.
The fire we parked ourselves next to most of the time we were in the hotel.
Seriously, quietly reading by the fire was like heaven. Sulli never lets me read.
It has been a very good snow year. It was a beautiful day, but also 3 degrees.

The view from the top
Benny getting ready to ski some terrifying stuff.
But it was wonderful to get home. We missed Sulli and his play-dough art like mad.
Sulli's turn to ski!

Chillin at the lodge (where Ben and I got married) waiting for his cocoa.
Little bra was worked after shredding the powpow.

  1. The last video reminds me of my skiing days. Never could keep the darn things together. Sign me up for Phillipsburg! You ski, I'll read by the fire and everyone will be happy. Sulli was wearing his smiley face mittens! That dollar rack at Target comes through again. Love you all.
