One word, preschool. Overnight Sulli has become a big kid. I spent some time the afternoon before preschool started going through his clothes to pass on the items he has grown out of and make room for big kid, grown up school clothes. It hurt, a lot. We pack him lunches at night and walk him 2 blocks to school in the morning. We hug and kiss him goodbye and we go away, and he is okay with that. He has met lots of girls (most of his friends are boys) and seems to be quite fond of them. It's a big change but he seems to like it.
We rode to his new school the night before his first day. They are doing some work on the building and I was a bit concerned about the school actually opening on time, it did.
We went camping at Glacier a couple of weeks ago and stayed at a campsite near this lake (Lake McDonald). It was beautiful but the camping part was a disaster. Sulli had a night terror at 2:00 am and one of our fellow campers requested that we leave the campsite because we were violating "quiet hours". What followed is a long story but we ended up sleeping in our cars in a grocery store parking lot. It sucked. I've never wanted to kick someone in the nuts so bad in my life.
Thank goodness Uncle Josh and Elisha were at Glacier with us. They saved the trip for us, thanks guys!
This hike tested my resolve as a parent. The climb up was on very steep scree and the winds were blowing about 60 mph up on the ridge. But man, it was pretty.
I was trying to get out of the way of this one but he kept crossing the trail right in front of me.
Scored this fishing game at Goodwill. Sulli played it for a couple of days but now he just bangs on it, scatters the fish everywhere, and occasionally takes the fish into the bathtub.
Did you know that Ben is a world champion rock skipper?
Cute baby goats.
